For the compositions in Radiance, I photograph an environment multiple times - for instance the photos used in Radiance 17 & 18 were shot in a rainforest with a macro zoom on moss - from different angles and exposures. Each composition is comprised of 3 or 4 images that I combine to create a new portrait of that environment.

Radiance represents the unpredictability of growth and the energy of growth that forces itself outward. I try to replicate this kinetic energy in Radiance through the implied outward motion of the shapes, with pieces bursting out with organic imprecision.
