SUPERDRAGON DJ CASSETTE ARCHIVEs

A nice continuous dub mix from the Superdragon DJ archives - Superdragon DJ was my DJ and noisemaker alter ego in the late 80s and 90s - and this was an all out two CD and two turntable epic mix, straight to cassette circa 1998.

Mastered with the tape hiss and all mistakes intact to take you right back to driving down Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland in the 1994 Protege. Personal faves: “Laugh” DJ Vadim Mix on Side A is a darkly funky cinematic take on the already desperately dark, slowcore stylings of 90’s indie darlings Low.

Another thing to note are two tracks on this mix are from completely remixed dub versions of albums from two bands: Massive Attack, who had their Protection album completely stripped down and launched into outer space by the Mad Professor on his version called No Protection, and Primal Scream who enlisted Adrian Sherwood to create dub remix of their album Vanishing Point called Echo Dek. Both of those tracks are on Side B of the tape.

Enjoy!
