Massing 1 • 36"x36" [92cm x 92cm] • C-print from color transparency composition

In architecture "massing" refers to the perception of shape, form and size of a structure. For the average city dweller, the form and function of the architecture around them is so ever-present, so gigantic in scope that actual awareness and contemplation of their relationship to these structures is reduced to a three-dimensional daily drone. In "Massing" I'm trying to manifest a visual record of the drone in these compositions by compacting (or massing) this information into the most basic shape for a structure, the square.
